Rate and mix decomposition of cost variance
Decompose the change in cost variance per order between the latest two years into within-work-centre rate and work-centre-mix effects. Retain work centres with orders in both years. Use prior-year shares for the rate effect and latest-year rates for the mix effect; reconcile both effects to the overall rate change.
